Helically welded (HSAW – Helical Submerged Arc Welded) line pipes are spiral-welded steel pipes preferred for large-diameter water and energy transmission lines. They are available in a wide outside diameter range of 610 mm to 1,524 mm (24″–60″), with wall thicknesses up to 25.4 mm.
Manufactured to API, CSA, EN, and ISO production standards, these pipes can also be supplied to meet NACE and DNV specifications. Outer surface coating options include FBE (Fusion Bonded Epoxy), Moisture-Resistant Overcoat (MRO), Abrasion-Resistant Overlay (ARO), and Concrete Weight Coating (CWC), while the inner surface can be finished with Flow Coat Epoxy.
With single lengths of up to 24.00 meters, HSAW pipes improve laying efficiency on long-distance energy and water transmission projects.
